What to Expect when you attend a meeting at ECC
When you attend a gathering at East Coast we hope you will feel welcomed and cared for. Here are a few things that you can expect when you attend one of our gatherings.
Meaningful relationships
At ECC, church isn’t just a once a week event – it is about relationships. We’re excited about the friendship and fellowship that is happening throughout the life of the church. We know that authentic relationships are not always the norm in churches, and that’s why we emphasize them. We believe that one of the most unrealized aspects that contributes to our maturity as a believer is the depth of our relationships. We encourage getting together often beyond our normal public gatherings, to just spending time together.
Not church as usual
It is not about a building, or an organization - the church is people! At ECC you will find that people are friendly, warm, open, and most of all REAL. We understand if you have had negative "church" experiences in the past, many of us have as well. That's why we purposly build away from organization and focus on Jesus which will free us from the "institutional" mindsets that ultimately damage our ability to enjoy the King and His Kingdom together.
Casual with coffee
We tend to approach our gatherings with casual dress and coffee! (What can we say, we love the stuff!) Seriously, we come as we are, and we do serve REALLY good coffee. However, just because we dress casual does not mean we approach our time with God casual. We come ready to worship, and enjoy God and one another.
Worship with passion
One of the areas we emphasize at ECC is praise and worship. The reality is that our worship here in this life is only a warm up for what we will find ourselves doing for all of eternity. We enjoy and encourage various styles of music and expressions of worship that include raising hands, dance, testimony and the corporate function and flow of the gifts of the Spirit as described in the New Testament. We believe that our praise and worship should be a time for believers to celebrate the ongoing miraculous new life we have in Christ.
Biblically based messages with practical application
Each week we’ll share messages from the Bible that will easily apply to your life. Our desire is for you to have a greater understanding of God’s plan for your life and how you can practically live that out every day. The truth is that unless the Word of God is applied to our lives we will see no fruit.
A place to serve
Serving in the Body is an essential part of the Christian life. At ECC we encourage every believer in the community to find a place to serve. Since Jesus declared of himself that he came not to be served but to serve, it becomes our mandate to follow him in the active service of others.
